Wang Longde, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the Chinese Medical Association, said that too little physical exertion, including too little physical exercise and a reduction in daily activities, are the primary factors for the occurrence of chronic diseases. Therefore, he recommends exercising at least three times a week, with an average of more than half an hour a day. The best exercise time is about 4-5 p.m., followed by 2-3 hours after dinner. The main way of exercise is aerobic exercise, including endurance exercise such as brisk walking, jogging, swimming and strength exercise such as equipment, dumbbell and puller. He recommends a combination of endurance and strength exercise, and even people over the age of 65 should do 2-3-8-10 kinds of strength exercise a week.
In addition, Academician Wang taught a 16-word "health motto" at a lecture: reasonable diet, moderate exercise, quitting smoking and drinking, and psychological balance. Have a reasonable diet. "the meal starts with five or six slices of meat, followed by a vegetarian dish 'embellished' and finally served with fruit. This is the general order in which we entertain." Wang Youde said that this order of eating is actually the opposite of the process of human digestion. A reasonable diet can be based on the principle of "ten tennis balls":
The amount of meat eaten every day is no more than the size of 1 tennis ball.
The daily consumption of staple food does not exceed the size of 2 tennis balls,
The fruit you eat every day should be the size of 3 tennis balls.
Eat no less than 4 tennis balls of vegetables every day.
In addition, "four ones" should be added every day, that is, an egg, a jin of milk, a handful of nuts and a piece of tofu the size of playing cards.
